Music Pick of the Week: Lana Del Rey

Yep here is a great song that I just found a couple days ago.
Was it on Gossip Girl?
Yes, yes it was, but I love it all the same.
Also, please excuse her crazy lips in this video. They may be a bit distracting, at least they were to me. However, this video is pretty sweet. Definitely felt like I was in LA back in the 70's, and we all know how crazy that would have been.

It's Beginning to Look NOT a lot Like Christmas

So yesterday we are just walking around in Dillard's, which I highly discourage (Nordstrom's is where it's at), trying to find some cute boots and the employees were already taking down the cute little Christmas trees.

What. The. Heck.

Remember that one time when every department store and their mothers were putting up the Christmas decorations the day after Halloween? It is funny, but actually quite sad that we cannot even wait until New Years to take that crap down. As far as I'm concerned it is still the Christmas season because Kosi 101.1 is still playing Christmas music, and everyone knows that Christmas only ends when New Years is over.
That is another topic I like to discuss. New Years. For us Mormons, it is just another day of the year to stay up WAY past our bedtime. For the rest of the world it is the one day, besides Halloween, to wear skanky dresses and get completely obligerated. That kinda sounds fun right?? NO. Not when you are goin down to Salt Lake to listen to some sweet music and see fireworks....
But really I quite enjoy New Years. It is just a great time to reflect on all the things you said you were going to do last year, but didn't do and now you're promising yourself that this is the year that will happen. It is a pretty erie feeling looking back on that year when the clock strikes midnight, realizing how certain events effected your life, and how quickly time just passess on by. My list of resolutions pretty much has not changed since I was like 16, I mean every young adult has common resolutions:
                           1. Fix my body.
                           2. Get me a boyfriend.
                           3. Be happy without a boyfriend.
                           4. Eat Healthier (which kinda goes along with fix my body).
                           5. "Do well in school."
                           6. Save money.
                           7. Live better.
                           8. Walmart (Just kidding I have just had their stupid slogan stuck in my head all day).
                           9. Improve wardrobe.
                           10. SERVICE!!!
So yeah, you bet me and all my lovely sisters have at least 5 of these things on our list, but I am excusing this time of the year to be cliché.

Some Things Take Time

So for the longest time we have been completely anti-blogging. Here are some simple reasons why:
1. People say things about their life that no one really cares about.
-INTERJECTION: this is only acceptable when there is an actual story line that promotes laughter, or when the story line promotes tears, and even then they can be a bit boring.
2. People spend WAY too much time online with people that they will never meet rather than getting out and meeting people in their actual life.
3. Blogging is way to common among married people. Vomit.
4. Blogs make people seem cooler than they really are.
    - SECOND INTERJECTION: this is only acceptable when said people do what they actually blog about.

Then one day we decided that we will blog for other reasons, which include:
1. Promoting good music.
2. Providing the world of blogging with our fashion finds, which may or may not be influenced heavily by pinterest.
3. Sharing our hilariously witty humor (it really is not that great, but we think so) to provide some laughter to the boring day.
4. Expand our interests in art.
    - THIRD INTERJECTION: we do not love art because everyone else and their mother does. We do not love art because it is the trendy thing to do. We, as in me (Chelsea), cannot really produce a beautiful piece of artwork, but I love admiring other peoples' work.
5. Get our thoughts, ideas, and impressions out of our mind and onto paper.
    - FOURTH INTERJECTION: journals are perfectly fine for this sort of thing. However, they are WAY too personal. It is so much funner to make these sort of things public.

So, because the list of pros outweigh the list of cons (just kidding that isn't the only reason why), we have decided to start a blog. And since we both live extremely busy lives and because we share almost all the same interests, and because it keeps us in contact (*cough* JORDAN), we are doing a combined blog.

We hope it is fantastic as we think it is.
